Remote control rubber keyboard, also called rubber keypad for TV remote control, remote control silicone keyboard, which is generally made of silicone or plastic. Rubber key buttons have excellent performance in heat resistence, low temperature resistance, weather resistance and insulation etc.

Rubber keypads are applied to many fields: phone keyboards, calculate key buttons, PC silicone keyboards, POS buttons, plastic and rubber keypads for electric appliances.

There  are some guides for your custom rubber keyboard of remote control.

1. Lengends Options

Generally, characters or patterns on the rubber buttons surface are processed in two ways: silk screen printing and laser etching. If you prefer the backlight effect, you can choose laser etching to process the charscters.  Light will be given out from the characters through laser etching.

2. Proctective Coating for the Rubber Keypad Surface

After lengends, we need to add a protective coating to the keyboard surface, which is aim to protect the characters from abrasion. There are four ways for protective coating.

• Smooth Matte

• PU Coating

• Epoxy Coating

• Plastic Key Cover (Cap)

Matte Smooth is economic, but the protective effect is not better than PU coating. If you want the best protective effect and more beautiful appearance, epoxy coating is recommended. 

3. Conductive Ways for the Rubber Key Pad

Resistance depend on the conductive ways. There are four conductive ways can be choosed.

• Conductive ink printing

• Carbon pills

• Metal domes

• Metal pill

 4. Multicolor Rubber Keys

If the rubber keypad is multicolor. There are two processing ways to manufacture these colorful keys: overmolded and keysetting.
