Plastic Cap with Rubber Keypad, also be known as P+R Keypad, Rubber Keypad with Plastic Key Cover, Rubber Button with Plastic Key Cap, which improve keypad surface's wear-resist, dust proof and water proof for longer lifespan.
Plastic Cap with Rubber Keypad consist of plastic key cap and silicone pad. Plastic caps usually manufactured by plastic injectionmolding, and the characters are made by laser engraving, screen printing, or overmolding. The silicone pad is made of silicone compression mold and is glued to the plastic key cap.
Plastic Cap with Rubber Keypad Characters usually choose three kinds of methods: Silkscreen Printing, Laser Engraving and Overmolding.
● Silkscreen Printing Characters
Advantages: Cheap; Not easy to fade; Light resistance.
Disadvantages: Can't print gradient color; Only one color can be printed at a time.
● Laser Engraving Characters
Advantages: LED lights are allowed; environmentally friendly.
Disadvantage: More expensive than silkscreen printing.

First make the character part of the key cap, which is the white part as shown in the figure. Then put the white part into the mold and overmolding.
Advantage: Characters are wear resist and almost never wear out.
Disadvantage: Expensive.
PU Coating: Good gloss, strong adhesion.
UV Coating: Scratch-resistant, environmental friendly.
